| Shoscombe School has excelled in
many areas of sport, competing, and often, winning against
larger schools. The pupils are encouraged to try a wide range
of sports. Shoscombe is proud to have been awarded the Football
Charter and the Sport England Active Mark.
Art
and music are encouraged with specialist staff, both permanent
and visiting, and there is a strong focus on drama: a variety
of successful productions having been performed, ranging from
Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” to “Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs”.
Shoscombe School has recently been awarded the International School
Award. We completed a very successful 4 year Comenius Project
working with French, Italian and Romanian Schools in 2004
and then started a second one in October 2006 which involves
an Austrian and two Irish Primary schools.
All
classrooms at Shoscombe School are fitted with interactive whiteboards.
There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities, such
as football, netball, hockey, craft, cookery, gardening and
cross-country running; it is hoped, shortly to include “Mad
Science”.
